Who's Waiting for You to Deliver Bigger Results?

Who's waiting for you to deliver bigger results?

Let me describe a situation that I think will be familiar to most entrepreneurs who are actively growing their businesses.

Right now, you're working with clients who are at a certain level of business ability. But once upon a time, you were working with people at a lower level and at a lower price point. From that point, you grew and you expanded your horizons to bigger opportunities, and you moved on from your first clients.

Now, meanwhile, there's another group of people who don't want to do business with you yet, because you're not at the level that they want to be served at. But as you continue to evolve, you might reach a point where they do want to do business with you. These things tend to flow naturally.

How Can You Serve People at All Levels?

I encourage you to consider, as you evolve, that you might actually still be able to serve people at all the different levels we’ve spoken about here. Depending on your business model, you might just not always be personally involved in serving them.

For example, if you were a cook, you might have started out cooking for people individually. Then you open your own restaurant, and even though you’re the head chef, you still get help from other chefs to do the chopping or make the sauce or whatever.

But if you expand beyond that, you might open a chain of restaurants, or release a cookbook. More people are able to experience your vision, and at more different price points, but you’re not cooking for everyone personally.

If you're a consultant or a coach, you might have a book and this price point, and an online program at this price-point, going up to live events and then private coaching at the highest price point.

Learning to Deliver Bigger Results

There are different ways you can do make your business accessible, but ultimately, if you're simply getting stuck where you are, you need to find a way to deliver bigger results. Consider what is it that the people at the next level up are looking for, because somebody's serving them up there.

This is not about saying, “These people are worth more as human beings than these people because they’re willing to pay me more.” It’s not about ignoring the people who can’t pay as much. All levels can be served if that's something that you want to do. You might even decide that in some cases if you serve the top group, things will trickle down to help all the other groups.

In my case, I'm from the insurance industry originally. My dad's an insurance agent, and I learned that industry from him 30-plus years ago. At times, I'd go back and forth wondering if I wanted to start my own insurance agency or if I wanted to do coaching for people in that industry.

Nowadays, one of the things I do is coach people in the insurance agency industry. My reason for making this decision was that if I train a lot of people then I can impact more clients, or the policy-holders as they’re called, than if I owned an agency myself.

Getting to Know Your Clients: Past, Present and Future

I encourage you to really consider where you're at right now. Who's your client? What are they like? What's their commitment like to awesomeness, to greatness, to the work you do? How do they feel about the work you do? Do they love it too? Or do they kind of just take it as a commodity?

Think about who the people are that you outgrew, and what it was that got you from there to where you are now, where you're serving the higher level.

Think about who this next group of people are that you're aiming for. How can you serve in a bigger way? It's always going to be about that. It could be doing something that's worth more, that gives bigger or better, or more consistent results, or that reaches more people.

Say you do a workshop with 10 people in a room. Now, you just have to figure out how to get 100 people in the room. Sure, there are a couple of things you’ll have to learn because it's slightly different to serve 100 people at once than 10, but you can learn that. The message of your work is the same, but you’re able to give it to more people.

Whatever your business model might be, think about what your next opportunity is, and how you can take your message or your product to more people. Like I said at the beginning, who’s waiting for you to deliver bigger results? They might not wait forever. What are they looking for, and can you deliver that for them?

The Benefits of Delivering Bigger Results

If you can do that, there's a really good chance that you’ll be able to enjoy greater abundance, enjoy change and evolution as an individual and as a businessperson, and make more money in less time, doing what you do best.
